The 24thAnnual Conference of the National Association of Hispanic Nurses - Los Angeles Chapterwill focus on Public Policy and Social Justice at the local, state and national level for vulnerable populations. The topics include social justice for individuals living with Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV); social justice and homelessness; public policy with Hispanic communities; and public policy impacting global communities. The role of the Hispanic nurse within social justice, public policy and public health will be discussed. Nurse empowerment is critical to improving the lives of vulnerable populations. 

At the end of this conference the participant will be able to:
  • Build awareness specific to social justice for the homeless and HIV Populations.
  • Build awareness specific to public policy and vulnerable populations.
  • Understand the importance of building collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
